Introduction
I believe it is safe to assume that most of the population loves pizza. Specifically, most people can’t resist it, whether it’s a cheese-filled classic, meat lovers, or veggie pizza. Nevertheless, not everyone can have it. it’s challenging to get a gluten-free pizza that doesn’t trigger a gastrointestinal response and causes you to lose control for the rest of the evening.
Fortunately, several restaurants and eateries have come to the realization that in order to be inclusive, it is best to provide food for people with dietary restrictions. We have compiled a list of Chicago’s 8 best places to eat gluten-free pizza. All my fellow gluten-free eaters in Chicago can rest easy knowing that they don’t have to worry about missing a pizza night and drink. Here are some best places to find gluten-free pizza in Chicago:
Robert’s Pizza and Dough Company
For Robert s Pizza and Dough Company, a properly spread slice of pizza, when folded, doesn’t break but becomes cracked. Finding the ideal balance between crispy-crunchy and chewy-tender, they combine, chill, ferment, and rise their dough. Their dedication to the best possible dough is what makes it so special. And unlike many cities, they provide all their delicious pizza on a gluten-free crust. So, if you were enticed by the idea of trying one but were afraid, fear not!
If you’re trying to find a gluten-free pizza with exemplary ingredients in Chicago, you need to visit The Jay pizza. Jay uses homemade fennel sausage, bell peppers, fresh mozzarella, and tomato sauce. Also, you can order the Cali Italia pizza here. The Cali Italia pizza is made with asiago, mozzarella, and Gorgonzola cheese finished with fig preserve, prosciutto di parma, balsamic reduction, and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano.
Homeslice
I recently went to Homeslice Restaurant to discover just what the craze was. And I can guarantee you that this restaurant has awesome vibes with numerous photo ops and scrumptious pizza. However, only small sizes of their pizzas are offered with a gluten-free crust. But, trust me, their “small” isn’t quite so small.
I opted for their Boiler Room’s pizza and it’s relatively easy, just cheese, pizzaiola, and pepperoni. But the most awesome gluten-free pepperoni pizza that I had ordered throughout Chicago was the one they had here. Some of their other key dishes include the BMZ (Big Meaty Ziser) made with Canadian bacon, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, and a ranch base, and the Lew-Wow made with Canadian bacon, pineapple, mozzarella, provolone, and a marinara base.
Roots Handmade Pizza
I’ve heard good things about Roots Handmade Pizza, but have never tried it. I’ve been told that the malt crusts at this restaurant are an excellent dish, and that vegan cheese and gluten-free pizzas can be substituted, cutting down the cost of the ingredients. They even offer collaborations with Joanna Stachon, Rick Ortiz, Jimmy Bannos Jr, and Brian Fisher. Joanna Stachon’s Pub Royale Butter Chicken Pizza offers butter sauce, marinated chicken, ginger, curry, onions, paneer, methi, chili oil, lime, and mozzarella.
Rick Ortiz’s Antique Taco Chili Cheese Curd Pizza features chorizo chili, cheddar curds, chihuahua cheese, mozzarella, pickled jalapeño pepper, jalape os, onions, avocado cream, tortilla strips, black olives, and scallions. Jimmy Bannos Jr’s Purple Pig Nduja Sausage Pizza has a seven-layer black pepper casing and lanced blend of Calabrian pork, spices, lard, and maguey yam. And finally, Brian Fisher’s Entente Korean Fried Chicken Pizza has red pepper flakes, garlic puree, kimchi, mozzarella, smoked gouda, Korean fried chicken, scallions, sesame seeds, and cilantro.
